About Us

This is a small, 'cute', unconventional, modern hotel (in a Victorian setting), full of wonderful ideas and run by two bright, down to earth Lancastrians who are passionate about art and design, real food and good beer and who have a completely easy, unpretentious approach.
If you like informal, classless and different you'll love this hotel.
It's comfortable atmosphere is tangible. The rooms are lovely, exciting and deliberately different.
Smoking is no longer permitted inside but an alternative area is provided outside to comply with new government legislation.
The bar is full of people; some getting drunk! some watching football, some talking, with no trouble: just getting along. Some do swear though as free speech is encouraged, but we do our best to keep it below Gordon Ramsey levels!
The staff are at ease, friendly and helpful and just ocassionaly they organise quiz nights and Karaokes.
Sophisticated and crude, simple and quality all rolled into one.
